Boxing for Teenagers in Szczecin: Junior Group 10–15
The Junior group 10–15 at BKS Rocky trains on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 17:00, plus Saturdays at 12:30. Check the timetable, the rules, the prices and what happens after a teenager turns 16.

Boxing for teenagers in Szczecin at BKS Rocky means a separate Junior group for ages 10–15: Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 17:00, plus a joint "Kids + junior" session on Saturday at 12:30. The sessions are led by Viacheslav Prokopchuk — head coach and founder of the club. The first session is free, and from 16 a teenager usually moves up to the adult group — the coach decides when.
The Junior group 10–15 — who runs it and who it is for
Between the ages of 10 and 15, a teenager usually has enough coordination and concentration to focus on technique, not just on general fitness.
The group is led by Viacheslav Prokopchuk: Master of Sport of Ukraine in boxing, bronze medallist at the European Championships and a certified boxing sports instructor (PZB). The same coach also runs the adult group, so moving up a level does not mean changing boxing school. You will find profiles of the whole team in the Rocky Team coaches section.
If your child is younger, the Kids group for ages 6–9 is the right fit — we wrote about it in more detail in our article on what age children can start boxing.
Do you need any experience?
No. You can join the Junior group with no experience at all. The coach adjusts the workload and the range of exercises to each person's level, and a newcomer starts with the basics: stance, footwork and shadow boxing.
What a boxing session for teenagers looks like
Each session lasts 1.5 hours. A boxing session usually follows a repeatable structure — a teenager knows what to expect and finds it easier to see their own progress. Most often it consists of these parts:
- Warm-up — running, skipping rope, general conditioning and mobility.
- Technique — stance, footwork, basic punches, defence, distance.
- Equipment work — bags, pads, sometimes mirrors to correct movement.
- Pair work — drills for reaction and distance.
- Strength work and stretching — bodyweight exercises and a cool-down.
In Olympic boxing, most of the time goes on learning correct movement rather than on hitting. It is a discipline where respect for your partner and your coach is part of the sport, not an optional extra. Regular training also teaches simple things that come in handy outside the gym: turning up on time, working through tiredness and sticking to the rules.
What to bring to a session
To begin with, a spare pair of trainers, comfortable sportswear, a towel and a big bottle of water are enough. You will choose gloves and wraps together with the coach after a few sessions, once it is clear whether your teenager wants to train regularly. You will find a detailed breakdown in our article on what your first boxing session looks like.

Sparring and competitions: who decides
There is no sparring in the first sessions. It comes later, it is matched to the boxer's level, and the coach decides when someone is ready — not a mate from the group and not a parent's ambition.
Competing is a separate decision, taken together with the coach. To enter a Polish Boxing Association (PZB) tournament, you need:
- A PZB licence.
- A sports and medical record book with up-to-date examinations.
Every competition has its own regulations setting out the birth years and weight categories. For example, the regulations of the 7th Individual Polish Championships for młodziczki (girls aged 13–14) for 2026 admit competitors born in 2012–2013. Other age categories have their own separate rules, which is why you should always check the organiser's current announcement before each entry.
BKS Rocky is a licensed PZB boxing club.
From 16: moving up to the adult group
From 16, you train in the adult group. In practice that means different times and a different working pace:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 18:30 and 20:00 (Viacheslav Prokopchuk),
- Tuesday and Thursday: 19:00 (Denis Grzesiak),
- Tuesday and Thursday 09:30: an open group for adults, beginners included.
The move does not happen automatically on a birthday. Age suggests the group, but the club has the final say — if someone is better off training with a younger or an older group, we arrange it individually with the coach. You can read more about what starting in this group looks like in our article on boxing for beginners in Szczecin.
